Our bench top variacs, manufactured in two styles,
‘Safe Block’ and ‘Carryvolt’
provide an efficient means of varying an AC voltage
for equipment testing. The Safe Block style variacs
are mounted in an enclosure complete with a quick connection
safe block mains connector. The Carryvolt units provide
three options for connection of the test item and come
complete with output monitoring of voltage and current.
Benchtop Variac with Safeblock
The Safe Block mains connector is a hinged cover unit
with earth live and neutral spring loaded connector
clips in the base. The leads of the item to be tested
are clipped into place and two ‘knife’ connectors
in the hinged cover complete the circuit between the
variac and the connector clips when the cover is closed.
 The
safe Block thus provides a quick and safe method of
connecting test items to the variac.

Carryvolt with Meters and Sockets
The Carryvolt units have three optional output connection
methods to connect to the item being tested.
- BS1363 UK domestic mains socket
- IEC60320 domestic appliance type socket
- 4mm diameter ‘banana’ sockets.
The unit is complete with output monitoring of voltage
and current making it the ideal portable tool for testing.
