Korndoffer transformers are 3 Phase autotransformers
designed with a range of taps from 50% to 85% of the
supply voltage to operate in circuit for the short period
of time while they start a motor. They are designed
to restrict the large currents that would be drawn from
the supply if the motor were to be started ‘Direct
on Line’.
The size of the Korndoffer transformer is related to
the size of the motor it will be required to start and
the expected number of starting cycles it will be expected
to perform each hour
Units may also be supplied enclosed with a range of
optional ancillaries.
