The Stockton range of transformers are generally ‘Isolation’
types constructed on ‘EI’ laminations with
a dual winding on a single coil former. Commonly this
construction will be on a former with a safety earth
screen between the windings, alternatively it will be
on a split bobbin format without screen. Autotransformers
follow a similar construction but have a single winding
with no safety earth screen.

Transformers can be supplied in a range
of enclosures from IP22 to IP66
The following table indicates typical sizes
of ‘Open Style’ transformers
for various power ratings of low voltage units
(<700V). Please note these may vary slightly
as the specific voltage requirements determine
the final transformer design.

Units with voltages greater than 700V up to 6.6KV can
be manufactured however the insulation requirements
of these transformers will require a larger build size
for the specific rating. Some units may convert to the
larger Durham Range single phase transformer construction
format.
Instrument transformers manufactured with small VA
ratings and low regulation levels for accuracy tend
to be manufactured on frame sizes approximately 10 to
20 times their VA rating
