Carroll & Meynell can offer a service as required
to replace, duplicate or repair existing transformer
and inductive products.
This service can be used to
- Repair or replace units that have failed in service
- Provide spares for operational units considered
to be approaching the end of their service life
- Provide extra units for the upgrade of existing
installations
Replacement
We can inspect and reverse engineer existing wound
components to establish their original specifications
and offer a replacement item built to the latest and
most cost effective solution that will match the original
electrical specification.
These solutions will not necessarily match the original
item dimensions but they will be tailored to suit the
space available
Duplication
As with ‘Replacement’ we will reverse engineer
the existing component but in this case we will offer
an exact duplicate matching both the electrical and
dimensional specifications
Repair
Repair is only financially viable for units rated greater
than 50KVA whereby the cost of disassembly, replacement
materials and re-assembly exceed the cost of a new unit.
Other factors such as the age of the unit at the time
of failure and the extent of the damage due to failure
also have to be considered for the viability of repair
rather than replacement.
We will inspect, test and assess the condition of a
unit that has failed in order to report on the feasibility,
reliability and cost effectiveness of either repairing
the existing unit or recovering reliable parts for use
within a duplicate re-build unit
